A reliable and versatile offensive lineman, Evan Mathis helped anchor an injury-plagued Eagles o-line in 2012, as he was the only member of the unit to start all 16 games. Mathis, who was named to the Pro Football Focus All-Pro Team in his second season with the team, has flourished at the left guard position since originally signing with the team in 2011. He was awarded a five-year deal in the 2012 offseason that will keep him in Philadelphia through 2016. A self-proclaimed “sit-down comedian”, Mathis’ witty sense of humor and fun-loving personality, combined with his veteran presence, make him a valuable leader in the Eagles locker room.

A veteran of seven NFL seasons, the 6-5, 302-pound Evan Mathis has played in 58 career games (22 starts) for the Cincinnati Bengals (2008-10), Miami Dolphins (2008), and Carolina Panthers (2005-07). A third round draft choice of the Panthers in 2005, the 29-year-old played collegiately at Alabama, where he notched a streak of 47 consecutive starts in four seasons.
