Biography

A former basketball player in high school, Ertz made the transformation to All-American tight end at Stanford, as he became the highest tight end drafted by the Eagles (35th overall in 2013) since the team selected Keith Jackson 13th overall in 1988. Ertz’s 898 receiving yards in 2012 led all Cardinal pass catchers and all FBS tight ends, while his 69 receptions tied for the FBS lead at that position. He appeared in 38 career games, recording 113 receptions for 1,434 yards and 15 touchdowns. A native of Danville, CA, Ertz was a first-team all-state selection as a senior at Monte Vista High School after hauling in 56 passes for 756 yards and 14 touchdowns.
